The return to tennis for Alexander Zverev remains the great unknown on the ATP with the elder brother of Germany’s world No. 6 failing to shed any fresh light on the comeback timetable.
Mischa Zverev told Eurosport that his 25-year-old sibling is still recovering from an ankle injury suffered more than four months ago in a Roland Garros semi-final against Rafael Nadal.
He added that the return to the courts will not be rushed while avoiding mentioning any possible dates.
“Sascha is only going to compete again when he is in a position to do well,” he said. “He has been training for a while and his training days are five hours.
“He is getting better and better, so I think that very soon we will see him on the circuit again.”
Weeks ago, Zverev had indicated he was aiming at playing in Germany’s September Davis Cup tie, a date that came and went.
