Alexander Zverev shook off the effects of an early-stage tumble which required medical intervention to beat Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-3 in a Rome Masters quarter-final on Wednesday.
The German who won the title in 2017 landed hard on a hand and had to be seen by the physio in order to carry on in the first set.
Zverev showed his healing powers as he moved through in 87 minutes to reach the tournament final four.
Zverev is seeking his first trophy of 2024, suffered bleeding from both hands due to his fall in the third game of the contest.
 He returned after treatment to break for the first-set lead and eventually improved to 5-3 over the American.
Zverev, with five Masters titles, has reached the last eight without the loss of a set. and next takes on Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, winner here over Novak Djokovic.
