Alexander Zverev lost his cool after losing a round of 16 men’s doubles match at the Mexican Open overnight, before apologising and withdrawing from the event.
Zverev was partnering Brazilian Marcelo Melo as they lost 2-6, 6-4, 6-10 to the British-Finnish pair of Lloyd Glasspool and Harri Heliövaara.
Zverev lost his temper at the end of the match, repeatedly hitting the umpire’s chair and shouting at him.
The German was earlier involved in an argument with the umpire over a line call that went against him and Melo.
