The last Brit standing in Indian Wells Cameron Norrie was taken down at the quarter final stage by Frances Tiafoe in straight sets 4-6,4-6.

Norrie, winner of  the title in 2021, ended  an eight-match winning  streak which  included victory over Carlos Alcaraz in the Rio de Janeiro final last month.

10th seed Norrie, was well below his best making  28 unforced errors against the 25-year-old 14th seed,

“I’m disappointed,” Norrie said. “It was a big opportunity for me looking at the names left in the draw.”

“I felt I had a really good chance to win another Indian Wells but on the day today Frances was better than me, and that’s the sport.”

Tiafoe will face either sixth-ranked Daniil Medvedev or Alejandro Davidovich Fokina for a place in the final.
