With his participation in the US Open blocked by lack of a COVID jab and his career now ruled by international entry and border requirements, anti-vaxx Novak Djokovci has been forced to scratch for playing opportunities.

The Serb who has not hit a ball in anger since winning Wimbledon nearly two months ago has managed to scramble his way into an entry at a new 250-level event in Tel Aviv, which apparently will welcome him without need for any jabs.

Djokovic last played at the Tour entry level in spring, when he reached the final of his family-owned-and-operated tournament.in Belgrade.

The former No. 1 who now stands sixth and sinking is due to compete next month in Davis Cup for Serbia in Valencia followed by the Laver Cup in London and then is due in Israel for the September 26 start.

The Tel Aviv event has been given a rebirth after being held from 1978 to 1981 and 1983 to 1996 .

The tournament was also the last ever won by Jimmy Connors in 1989.
