Tan tumbles Brit Boulter

Harmony Tan trounced Katie Boulter 6-1, 6-1 on Saturday to deny the Brit a place in the Wimbledon fourth round.

Boulter, ranked 118, had been hoping to join compatriot Heather Watson in the last 16 at the home Grand Slam.

But France’s Tan, who started her fortnight with a knockout of Serena Williams, was having none of it.

The winner spent 51 minutes in dominating the local, winning three consecutive matches at a major for the first time.

Tan struck 16 winners and profited from 21 unforced errors by Boulter.

“I can’t believe how well I’m playing,” the astonished winner said. “Maybe tomorrow when I wake up.

“It’s just amazing. I like grass and I’m really happy.”

The No. 115 said that after the emotion of upsetting Williams, her subsequent matches have been business as usual.

“After that it was just playing match by match.”
