King Richard, the biopic movie about Richard Williams and the rise of Venus and Serena, has received six Oscar nominations, including a Best Picture and Best Actor nod for Will Smith, who plays Richard in the film.
Aunjanue Ellis also earned a Supporting Actress nomination for her performance as Oracene “Brandy” Price, Venus and Serena’s mother.
Other nominations were for best screenplay, best film editing and best original song: Be Alive by Beyonce.
King Richard was released last November and has received good reviews worldwide.
