Sinner primed for more success: Cahill

Jannik Sinner’s crushing 6-3, 6-1 win over Grigor Dimitrov to win the Miami Masters is just the tip of the iceberg for the new world No. 2, with coach Darren Cahill predicting more of the same for the Italian.

“You can’t sugar-coat it. He’s playing great, and his level today was fantastic,” the Aussie uber-coach said.

“But he can get better.

“As evolution goes along and you get a little bit older and stronger and faster and get a bit smarter, all those things are going to start to come into his game.”

Cahill, who also coached Andre Agassi to fame a generation or two ago, believes the sky’s the limit for Sinner, winner of three titles this season including his first grand Slam at the Australian Open.

“When he steps onto any court in the world against any player in the world, he respects everybody, but he fears no one,” Cahill said.

“It’s really important that when you step out there, you’re ready to give it your best.

“Most days when you’re playing that level he’s playing at, he’s going to have a good day. And today was a good day.”
