Security tight to thwart eco-terrorists

IF any fans were wondering – or even angry – that they had to wait so long to get into Wimbledon yesterday – then they need only look as far as the eco-terrorists of Just Stop Oil and their orange powder.

Security was high as staff checked all bags for anything that might cause disruption – including orange lentils – with Wimbledon officials keen to become the latest victim of this group.

Some fans said they had to wait up to 10 hours to gain entry as security checked bags and even confiscated sun cream, deodorant and metal water bottles.
