Casper Ruud has pulled back the curtain on the private side of Rafael Nadal, with the Norwegian providing a few details of the iconic Spaniard’s personality off the court.
The pair only last month staged an exhibition tour of South America, playing to sellout crowds in national capitals.
Norway’s Ruud – twice a Grand Slam finalist in 2022 – has claimed two of his nine career ATP titles in Buenos Aires.
“He’s a very laid-back guy,” the ATP No. 3 told Eurosport. “I don’t think he’ll mind me saying this, but he’s a fun guy.
“I’ve seen him up close and it was fun.”
Ruud added: “He’s great, but he (has) a switch. He turns his personal side on and off.
“I’m not going to go into all the details or whatever, but he’s a lot of fun to be around.
“He’s not as serious and dedicated as he is on the court. He likes to have fun. He dances a bit and enjoys a nice glass of wine for dinner.”
