The 16-match autumn winning streak of Felix Auger-Aliassime was ended on Saturday in the semi-finals of the Paris Masters by Holger Rune
The Danish teenager who lost the Basel final six days ago to the on-fire Canadian – winner of three titles in three weeks last month – managed a 6-4, 6-2 result in 89 minutes.
Rune denied FAA a place in a fourth straight final while booking his own fourth in a row in an ATP titled match, breaking three times from eight chances.
The winner will await a finals opponent as Novak Djokovic meets Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second semi-final. A title would send the youngster to a Top 10 ranking for the first time.
Auger-Aliassime had not been defeated since October 3 when he went down to Robert Bautista Agut in Astana.
