Andrey Rublev won his 18th match of the season as he completed a third victory in as many weeks against Marton Fucsovics to power into the MIami Masters fourth round on Monday.
The Russian who leads the ATP victory list in 2021 notched another win over his Hungarian opponent after defeating Fucsovics at Doha, Dubai and here.
The 6-2, 6-1 success in well under an hour sends Rublev into a fourth-round showdown with 2014 US Open winner Marin Cilic, who has come up short in two of their three previous meetings.
“I’m playing well,” the winner said. “The conditions worked well for me.
“He had a late finish after three hours in the second round at night, when things are completely different.
“The court is much faster and hotter during the day, that helps me,
“I know Marin’s game very well, there is always drama in our matches.
“He doesn’t stand on the baseline and give you rhythm, he mixes up the shots. I have to play my game and dictate.”
