Russian Andrey Rublev has yet to play a match but still owns a place in the quarter-finals of the Qatar Open after benefitting from yet another walkover.
The third seed is waiting for his first strike at a ball in anger this week after a first-round bye and injury pullouts from two subsequent opponents in as many days.
Frenchman Richard Gasquet pulled the plug on Wednesday while it was Hungarian Marton Fucsovics on Thursday in the third round.
As a result, Rublev heads into the last eight against either top seed Dominic Thiem or Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut.
The ill-fated match against Fucsovics would have been a re-run of Sunday’s Rotterdam final, won by the Russian.
