Roland Garros winner Barbora Krejcikova and runner-up Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova both advanced on the grass of Wimbledon into the third round on Thursday.
Czech Krajcikova stopped Germany’s Andrea Patkovic, playing her for a tenth time, 7-5, 6-4 while Pavlyuchenkova defeated Kristyna Pliskova, twin sister of eighth seed Karolina, 6-3, 6-3 .
Krejcikova, who beat five seeds on the way to the Paris title last month, extended a 14-match unbeaten streak which began in the Strasbourg first round on May 24.
Pavlyuchenika took a loss in her only grass preparation match last week at Eastbourne but is now one win away from duplicating her career Wimbledon best of the 2016 quarter-finals as she competes here for the 14th time.
