Top seed Andrey Rublev was simply too good for young wild-card entry Brandon Nakashima at the San Diego Open, winning his second round match 6-2, 6-1.

Rublev’s big forehands enabled him to control match throughout against the local Nakashima.

“Since the beginning, I was thinking I need to be the one who’s going to dominate,” Rublev said after the match.

” I need to try to take my forehand and try to dictate.”

Next up for Rublev is a match against No.6 seed Diego Schwartzman who beat Lloyd Harris.

No.5 seed Hubert Hurkacz defeated qualifier Alex Bolt 7-6 (2), 6-1.
