Emma Raducanu’s popularity continues to grow with an appearance in a UK sports companies’ Christmas TV advert.
The US Open champion can be seen alongside other British sports stars in the ad for Sports Direct, which has been reported to have cost about US $8 million to produce.
The commercial invites people to get out of their houses and enjoy the snow as Raducanu dodges snow balls and shouts “new balls, please!”, before serving and hitting British footballer Jack Grealish in the back.
Six Premier League footballers play in the ad, including West Ham’s Declan Rice, Manchester City’s Grealish, Everton’s Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Chelsea’s Mason Mount, and Chelsea and England Women’s player Fran Kirby.
Olympic gold medalist Jessica Ennis-Hill, heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, and rugby trio Maro Itoje, Anthony Watson, and Harriet Millar-Mill all appear.
