British qualifier Emma Raducanu extended her US Open win streak on Wednesday as she shocked Olympic champion Belinda Bencic 6-3, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals.

The 18-year-old met a Top 20 opponent for the first time in a career which only began at the WTA level three months ago, defeating the Swiss ranked 12th in just under 90 minutes

Raducanu, who reached the Wimbledon fourth round in the first Grand slam appearance of her career, won her eighth match here after a qualifying start.

Bencic had won 13 of her last 14 matches heading into the quarter-final with the No.150; victory marked the second win over a Swiss of the fortnight after defeating Stefanie Vogele in the first round.
