Raducanu handed wildcard lifeline into Dubai

Emma Raducanu will hope to end a four-match loss streak next week after receiving a wild card entry into the WTA Dubai event on Friday.

The Valentine’s Day gesture sends the struggling Brit into a top field in the emirate for her debut appearance.

Raducanu, whose claim to fame as 2021 US Open champion is starting to tarnish due to a lack of any serious result since that triumph, won her last match in the Australian Open second round last month.

The world No. 60 has since gone down to defeat against Iga Swiatek at the Grand Slam followed by losses in Singapore, Abu Dhabi and this week in Doha at the hands of Ekaterina Alexandrova.

The tournament which begins on Monday will feature no. 1 Aryna Sabalenka with holder Jasmine Paolini of Italy returning to defend her title at the Aviation Club.
