Singles trophyholder will walk with USD 3 million each after the US Open lifted the prize money package to a total of 65 million for the Grand Slam starting August 28.
The tournament which will celebrate half a century of equal prize money for men and women has raised the stakes again in the perks war between the four majors with its Tuesday announcement.
The total payout is 5 million more than the record-breaking amount from 2022.
Qualifiers have not been left out, with the hopefuls earning a minimum of US$22,000 for first-round defeat.
First round main draw loser can bank a healthy US$81,500, a consolation prize which has increased by 44 percent in just four years.
Player expenses have not been overlooked by generous New York overlords, with the rank-and-file being handed a hotel per diem of US$600 per day, quite enough to cover most lodging costs in out-of-control NYC luxury establishments.
Also on offer are travel vouchers worth a cool US$1,000; all of this is in addition to complimentary food and racquet stringing for allcomers.
