The American daughter of a billionaire NFL club-owning dynasty, took out the Czech sixth seed Karolina Pliskova 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 and will next play Greek Maria Sakkari, who dropped just one game in defeating No. 126 Russian Ludmila Samsonova.
Pegula, an Australian Open quarter-finalist, has repeatedly cracked the Pliskova code, having beaten the Czech three times this month, at Doha and Dubai before completing her victory hat-trick here..
