Naomi Osaka got a break on Sunday as third-round opponent Nina Stojanovic was forced to pull out prior to their third-round match at the MIami Masters.

The Serb said that a right thigh injury left her unable to take to the court.

The walkover keeps Osaka thick in the chase to try and regain the No. 1 ranking from Ash Barty,

Osaka, winner of the last two Grand Slams in New York and Melbourne, has been on a roll, last losing a WTA match in the August final of the Cincinnati  event played in a COVID-19 bubble at the US Open venue.
