Carlos Alcaraz has already sorted out his priorities for two tennis trips to Paris this year. And the Spaniard is convinced that winning an Olympic gold this summer would be the top souvenir to show for his efforts on court.
The ATP No. 2 revealed his choice as he competes this week at the Tour clay event in Buenos Aires, giving the Games precedence over a title at Roland Garros in June.
.”It’s a dream to bring a medal to my country and winning gold is one of the greatest things that can happen to you in the world of sport,” he said. as he began his title defence in the Argentine capital.
“If you gave me a choice, I’d say that I will keep the Olympic gold, although I would like to win both. I’m not going to lie.”
The Paris Olympics could be an opportunity for Alcaraz, who lost an Australian Open quarter-final to Alexander Zverev, Tokyo champion at the Games.
