Argentine Facundo Lugones has been voted ATP Coach of the Year after helping Brit Cameron Norrie win two titles in 2021.

Norrie triumphed at Los Cabos and in the Masters 1000 tournament at Indian Wells in October and ended the season at a career high No.12 in the world.

“I am incredibly happy. I never thought I could win this award, it’s surreal, but that’s the beauty of the sport, that anything could happen,” Lugones said.

“I just want to thank my team. Julian Romero and Vasek Jursik, they work incredibly hard throughout to get Cameron hard, and also Devin Bowen and James Trotman since day one, helping the whole team.”

Lugones and Norrie were teammates at Texas Christian University so have been friends for a long time.
