Holger Rune on Sunday withdrew from the NextGen Finals in Milan after winning a breakthrough Masters 1000 title in Paris.
The Danish teenager stunned six-time champion Novak Djokovic 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, enough of a ranking move to earn him alternate status at the ATP Finals in Milan starting in a week.
Rune revealed his new plan after victory over 21-time Grand Slam winner Djokovic at the Bercy arena in two and a half hours.
“Of course I’m going to go to Turin,” the 19-year-old said.
“It was unexpected 4 or 5 weeks ago. I’m happy to officially finish my season,
“I hope everyone remains healthy but if I can do more matches, I’ll be happy also.
“I’m super happy how I officially ended my season, and if there possibly is more matches, I’m just super excited for it.
“Right now I just can’t wait to get some sleep, get some food, just relax totally.”
