A Russian WTA player arrested during the French Open in a match-fixing probe has been released with no charges filed.

AFP reported the development in the saga of doubles No. 101 Yana Sizikova, who was detained on the ground of Roland Garros during the Grand Slam currently in progress.

The incident sprang from a months-long judicial probe into possible match-fixing at the previous Paris edition held last October.

Sizikova was released late on Friday without being charged, the Paris prosecutor’s office said, adding that “investigations continue”

Sizikova and American Madison Brengle lost to Romanians Andreea Mitu and Patricia Maria Tig in the doubles first round, with especially online bettering action flooding in at one particular point in the match and raising suspicion.
