No. 2 Ruud heading back to Turin Finals

Casper Ruud defeated Chilean qualifier Nicolas Jarry 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 on Thursday in Seoul and guaranteed himself a return visit to the November ATP Finals.

The Norwegian who played the US Open final this month and owns three 2023 titles, heads into the quarter-finals in the South Korean capital as well as the November 13-20 showdown between the leading eight players in northern Italy.

Ruud joins Spaniards Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz in the season-ending showpiece at the Pala Alpitour.

“I just got the news that I qualified again this year and I’m so much looking forward to coming back to Italy,” Ruud said.

“I had such a great time last year, it’s a great country for tennis.”

A year ago in Turin, Ruud reached the semi-finals, defeating Briton Cameron Norrie and Andrey Rublev along the way losing to Daniil Medvedev.
