Nadal undergoes arthroscopic surgery

Rafael Nadal underwent arthroscopy surgery on a troublesome hip muscle which has kept him off court since January, his team announced on Friday.

The operation in Barcelona was performed a day before the 22-time Grand Slam champion turns 38.

Nadal’s medical team led by Dr. Ruiz-Cotorro performed the procedure in Barcelona.

Updates are expected on Saturday, according to Nadal’s spokesman.
