Rafael Nadal looks set to return to the courts after injury at an ATP 250 event in Melbourne on January 4.
Nadal, now ranked No.6 in the world, has not competed since the Citi Open in august, where he lost to South African Lloyd Harris.
The Spanish superstar leads a strong field that also includes former World No. 4 Kei Nishikori, former World No. 5 Kevin Anderson and 2017 Nitto ATP Finals champion Grigor Dimitrov.
Other players entered include Reilly Opelka, Alexander Bublik and Botic van de Zandschulp.
French star Gael Monfils and former World No. 3 Marin Cilic will headline the Adelaide event the same week, along with Italian Lorenzo Musetti and Americans Sebastian Korda, Tommy Paul and Frances Tiafoe.
