Musetti first 2002-born in an ATP quarter-final

Young Italian Lorenzo Musetti became the first player born in 2002 to reach an ATP quarter-final, beating qualifier Andrea Pellegrino 6-2, 6-1 at the Sardinia Open.

The teenager dominated on both serve and return, dropping only 12 points in eight service games for victory.

Yannick Hanfmann is also through the quarter-final, ousting Casper Ruud 6-2, 6-1 in just over an hour.

No.4 seed Albert Ramos-Vinolas needed a little longer to secure a 6-0, 6-3 triumph over Corentin Moutet and Marco Cecchinato was the final qualifier, beating American Tommy Paul 7-6(1), 6-4.
