Andy Murray strung together three straight match wins for the first time since late 2019 as the Scot advanced on Thursday to the semi-finals of the ATP event in Sydney.
He went through 6-2 as eighth seed David Goffin had to quit with a knee injury after taking treatment earlier.
Murray last won three on the trot in autumn 2019 as he won the European Open in Antwerp.
He followed up a marathon win over Nikoloz Basilashvili in the previous round – now his opponent in the opening round of the Australian Open.
