Double Olympic champion Andy Murray, the only player to defend an Olympic Singles title, has a chance to make it three gold medals as he was today chosen for the Great Britain Team for Tokyo 2020
The World no. 119 and former No. 1 Murray will play alongside Dan Evans in the singles, and with Joe Salisbury in the doubles.
Andy’s doubles specialist brother Jamie has been left out of the squad.
Heather Watson and Johanna Konta will compete in the women’s singles.
The pandemic delayed games will take place in Tokyo from 23 July to 8 August.
Double Wimbledon Champion Murray has been granted a wild card for the 2021 Championships, which get underway at the AELTC next Monday, but he is still struggling to find anywhere near his best form following hip and groin surgeries.
