Murray added to February Rotterdam field

Andy Murray will join three other former champions at next month’s ATP Rotterdam event, with the Scot dreaming of duplicating his title performance from 14 years ago.

The three-time Grand Slam winner claimed his title at the Ahoy arena in 2009 and will be competing at the indoor event for an eighth time from February 11-19.

“There are few players who can point to a list of honours like Andy Murray’s,” TD Richard Krajicek said.

“Not only his three Grand Slam titles, but certainly his two Olympic gold medals make him unique. We are proud to greet this icon again .

“Considering how he fought his way back after his hip surgery, it is a privilege to see him still in action.”

Murray will be seeking a 47th career title as he competes in a field which also includes fellow trophyholders Felix Auger-Aliassime, Andrey Rublev and Stan Wawrinka.

Murray scored his title success here when he beat Rafael Nadal in 2009; in 2021 and 2022 he lost to the eventual Rotterdam champion.
