Gael Monfils says the would be happy to play Roland Garros in September even if it means playing without fans.
“It will still be the real Roland-Garros even in September,” Monfil said on his Twitch channel.
“I will be very happy that it takes place. Playing the tournament would be crazy. We miss our sport like all enthusiasts. It would be a great pride for our sport to be revived.
“As a youngster, you don’t play in front of 10,000 people and you always have the same hype. I always have the same passion.”
Monfils said it would change things, but “the best is to play in a full stadium.”
The French star said he was missing being at Roland Garros this week.
“For me, Roland-Garros really starts in my head today. Obviously, I have a pinch in the heart. It’s my favourite tournament, a time when I get together with all my family, all my friends.
