Miami Masters officials have thrown a lifeline to a pair of off-the-boil Grand Slam champions, with Dominic Thiem and Britain’s Emma Raducanu being handed wild card entries.
The second Masters of the season which begins March 22 will hopefully prove useful to the pair who each own US Open titles – Thiem in 2020 and Raducanu as a teenaged qualifier a year later.
We are happy to be able to add Emma and Dominic to the Miami Open fields,” TD James Blake said.
“Both these players have shown what it takes to win the biggest tournaments in the world. We look forward to welcoming them to Miami to compete for the title here in a few short weeks.”
Thiem has had a rough recovery from a 2021 wrist injury while Raducanu now stands 80th after once cracking the Top 10 but failing to produce any result of note over the last season.
