Medvedev three wins away from top spot

Daniil Medvedev blew away Pablo Andujar 6-1, 6-2 in Acapulco on Wednesday to put himself just three wins away from claiming the ATP Tour’s No.1 ranking.

Medvedev can replace Novak Djokovic atop the rankings if he wins the Mexican Open title.

He took just over an hour to beat Andujar and will play either Taylor Fritz or Yoshihito Nishioka in the quarter-finals.
