Daniil Medvedev assured that he will shake off his Australian Open loss to Novak Djokovic without problems and will be ready to go for his next ATP event.,
The Russian who was thrashed 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 on Sunday in the Melbourne Grand Slam final. will briefly chill at home in Monte Carlo before competing in the Rotterdam ATP event starting on a week from Monday.
“”I’m usually quite easy at defeats,” the Russian world No. 3 said. “I’ll play in Rotterdam in a few weeks.
“That’s the good part in tennis. In two days I’ll be home and preparing for the next one. I will need, I would say, two days to go though it.”
Medvedev was analytical about what went wrong for him in a final which lasted for less than two hours and handed Djokovic a ninth trophy in Melbourne.
“I was there in the first set, I was up a break in the second, but in the end I lost in three sets where I didn’t play bad but I didn’t play high best level.
“Probably he made his game so good today that I couldn’t stay at my best level. He was better than me today.
“I could have done things for sure better today, but I didn’t manage to. That’s why I don’t have the trophy.”
