Magical Medvedev puts on a show in Paris

Daniil Medvedev fought off both Seb Korda and a vociferous Paris crowd on Thursday night to emerge the winner with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory at the Paris Masters.

After losing the first set to Korda Medvedev bounced back to claim the second and then the match with some magical form to take out the tie as he broke his opponent at 3-2 to set up a quarter-final tie against Hugo Gaston, who dismantled Carlos Alcaraz 6-4, 7-5.

“I had adrenaline going (from another hot shot earlier in the game) and that’s how it’s possible to make these shots,”Medvedev said.

“It was a little bit of luck, a little bit of skill and a little bit of magic.”
