Lily Becker: Boris is coping in prison

Bankrupt Boris Becker’s ex-wife says the former player is coping with prison life after visiting the German in an English prison.

The six-time Grand Slam winner and BBC Wimbledon commentator for two decades is serving two and a half years for violating bankruptcy laws by hiding up to GBP 2.5 million in assets from creditors.

The 54-year-old is serving his sentence in an Oxfordshire prison holding only foreigners with an eye to being deported to Germany once his time is done.

He is expected to serve half of his time behind bars as per normal procedure

.Lily Becker and Becker’s sons Noah and Elias paid a visit this first week of Wimbledon week to HMP Huntercombe, with Lily Becker revealing little:

“‘Boris is fine, I am fine. We are all fine. I have been very busy with my sons, there’s not much more to say. Everything is OK,” she told British media, adding that she has been “‘too busy with my family” to watch the tournament which dominates two BBC channels

“I’ve not been watching Wimbledon and don’t want to talk about it or anything else. I’m currently busy cooking dinner for my sons.

‘We’re all fine, there’s nothing to worry about.”
