Nick Kyrgios is on the fast track to nowhere-man status with the last of his ATP ranking points set to drop form the computer next week.
The 2022 Wimbledon finalist who played just one match this season – a June loss on grass in Stuttgart – and has not touched a racquet since.
Meanwhile, his last ranking points form the Tokyo event in a year ago, will fall from the computer next week leaving him with zero.
Kyrgios began this season by withdrawing form the Australian Open for what was billed as remedial wrist surgery and has only once ventured near an ATP court.
His physical condition remains as opaque as ever, with no definite signs that he is planning for a return; best guesses are maye a possible attempt in January for the start of the new season on his home continent.
In the meantime, hopes are fading that the big personality who has never loved his sport might actually get serious about coming back.
Kyrgios has been quick to lash out on all manner of issues on social media but seems to be keeping his distance from the tennis court.
