Kyrgios releases image of knee op

Nick Kyrgios has released an image of what was removed from his injured knee – after his withdrawal from the Australian Open.

Hours after his announcement Kyrgios used social media to post the image of a drained cyst that has caused him so much pain in recent days.

“OK. If you are still here, you’re ready to see something nasty,” he wrote,, before posting the picture.

“Yep. You can’t say you weren’t warned.”

A syringe was used to drain the cyst on Kyrgios’s knee caused by a small tear in his lateral meniscus.
