Sofia Kenin says she will seek advice from world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in Melbourne if the pressure of being defending champion becomes too much.

Kenin, currently ranked No. 4 in the world, said practising next to Djokovic in Melbourne last year was a positive for her.

“He did give me great advice ahead of the final [last year] since we were practising next to each other,” she said in Abu Dhabi.

“I definitely think I can talk to Novakā€¦ I think that will be helpful since we are both defending champions.”

Kenin said Djokovic gave her some good advice ahead of her women’s singles final clash with Spain’s Garbine Muguruza.

“He came up to me and he was really nice about it and told me some things before the final which was special because I was crazy nervous,” Kenin said.

“He told me some things which I will not disclose since I would rather keep it a secret.”
