Ons Jabeur will hope to return to the WTA by next month;s start of the Indian Wells Masters after a minor knee procedure forced the No. 3 to miss play this month in her native Middle East.
The Tunisian who played back-to-back Grand Slam finals last season in Wimbledon and New York, posted her comeback plans on social media s she misses this week’s event in Tour Doha and next week in Dubai.
“The minor surgery has been done and according to my medical team, it’s been successful,” she said.
“I should be able to go back on the court and get back to work in the next week or so, I wanted to thank…every single person who sent messages and showed support.”
The 28-year-old was dumped out in the Australian Open second round due partly to her injury.
