Britain’s US Open winner Emma Raducanu is planning a one-two punch as she returns to the WTA Tour as a Grand Slam champion, with the teenager waiting to hear on a wild card for Indian Wells.
The celebrated 18 year-old who became the first this month to win a major from a qualifying start, has also been confirmed to follow up her likely Californian debut with an appearance at the Moscow indoor event starting October 18.
Raducanu has reportedly gone back to training in her south London home while adjusting to her sudden and dramatic shift in tennis status.
The new No. 22 should find out soon regarding her early October Indian Wells invitation; she needs a wild card since entry ranking for the Masters 1000 tournament were calculated on pre US Open rankings.
The Moscow field will contain two of the players she beat in her New York run to glory: Maria Sakkari, Belinda Bencic. Former US Open winner Bianca Andreescu is also on the entry list.
