Roger Federer has made it clear in an online chat session that his focus is strictly on his January return to tennis in Australia as he comes back from a pair of 2020 knee operations.
“I am still fighting for my comeback, I want to be back on the tennis court. I would love to play with the legends of the game and the best players,” the 39-year-old told fans.
“I feel maybe there is a little more that is left in me,” added the 20-time Grand Slam champion who has not played since Melbourne 11 months ago.
Federer knocked idle chatter about ending his iconic run in the sport on the head.
“I’m definitely not stepping away from the game right now,” the Swiss said. “I’m not retiring anytime soon.”
