Roger Federer’s ranking points completely expired on Monday, the day after Novak Djokovic won a seventh Wimbledon title.

The 40-year-old who has triumphed eight times at the All England Club has not played a full Tour schedule since the 2020 Australian Open, when he suffered the first of his series of knee injuries and subsequent surgeries.

The Swiss, who played his last match a year ago and lost in the Wimbledon quarter-finals to Hubert Hurkacz, has said he is planning a return at the Laver Cup in September in London.

He is also entered in the Swiss Indoors in his hometown of Basel, an event he has won 10 times.

Federer, with 230 Grand Slam singles titles, first entered the ATP rankings as a teenager on September 22, 1997.
