Spain’s two-time Grand Slam winner posted a Twitter vid of her phone mounted on a tripod and pointed at her position on the baseline during a training session.
With the player wearing an earbud, communication with her mentor worked a treat.
Former Wimbledon champion Martinez said she has been confined to a hospital room in the Gulf after feeling ill prior to th4 WTA event starting on Monday. She hopes to be out and about imminently.
“I am hopeful that I will soon be able to continue this tour of the Middle East,” the 48-year-old said in Twitter post.
“At the moment I will be developing my functions via video conference and permanently connected to direct Garbine.”
Muguruza is coming off an Australian Open fourth-round match against eventual champion Naomi Osaka in Melbourne. She is due to start in Qatar against Russian Veronika Kudermetova.
