Double Delight for Hurkacz in Metz

World number 13 Hubert Hurkacz  today won his first indoor singles title, and his first outside the United States with a 7-6 (7-2) 6-3 in the Moselle Open in Metz over Pablo Carreno Busta

It was also his third title this year having won two titles in the States, Delray Beach and Miami.

The tournament top seed started slowly and was a break down in the first set before turning it round to beat the Spaniard 7-6 (7-2) 6-3 in Metz.

The Pole who did not drop a set throughout the tournament defeated Britain’s former world number one Andy Murray in the quarter-finals,

After the match Hurkacz said “Pablo is an amazing player, so playing against him in the final here is something special,”

“I needed to raise my level to play my best to be able to compete with him and today I came out on top and I am super, super happy about this.”

Hurkacz levelled his ATP Head2Head Series at 1-1 with Carreno Busta, having lost to the 30-year-old in Cincinnati last month and now holds an impressive 4-0 record in ATP Tour finals.

After an hour’s break Hurkacz was back on court made it a win double with his partner Jan Zielinski to take the Doubles title
