Hints dropping that Djokovic will front up for Dubai

Hints from the Serb camp indicate that Novak Djokovic will follow up his 10th Australian title from last month with an entry into the Dubai ATP 500.

The start of the Gulf tournament in two weeks should give the No, 1 time to prepare after another success in Melbourne a fortnight ago.

Team Djoko has played up their man’s miracle title performance after suffering throughout the Grand Slam with what they describe as a leg injury. Little medical proof has, however, been forthcoming.

While nothing has been officially confirmed, leaks from the Balkans indicate that the 35-year-old is preparing himself to step back onto the Tour, with his entry fate to the US still under a huge cloud due to his refusal to get vaxxed for COVID.

Unless that law suddenly changes, he will be on enforced holiday for the entirety of March and will be forced to miss the Indian Wells and Miami Masters.

Physiotherapist Marco Panichi was due in Belgrade on Monday to begin preparations with the player, according to Serb source. Dubai begins on February 27.
