Henman fears next season could mark the end of Murray

Andy Murray’s celebrated career could come to its natural end next season, according to British tennis icon Tim Henman.

The former Wimbledon semi-finalist told Eurosport of his fears that a more than half a decade of hip surgery problems and other niggles might send the 36-year-old Scot to retirement.

But Murray will not go without a fight and his preparing his 2024 campaign for a start next weekend in Brisbane at the ATP event which kicks off the season

“Andy is the only one who really knows, but he’s still very motivated. I have seen him practicing,” Henman told the broadcast outlet.

“He’s out there putting in the hours on the court, in the gym, and I just hope he can get some rewards for all that time and effort.

“Late last year, he didn’t look like he was enjoying it on the court. His attitude wasn’t good.,”  Henman said of the No. 42 with three Grand Slam titles who once stood atop the ATP rankings.

The veteran player added: :”Andy’s not going to play professional tennis

“The wish list for him would be for him to play well, get some good wins and have fun. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.”
