South Africa’s Lloyd Harris was forced to withdraw from the Paris Masters with lower back pain ahead of his first round match on Tuesday.

Harris was due to face Australia’s Alex de Minaur in the opening round, but was replaced by Alexei Popyrin – who went on to beat his compatriot 6-0, 6-3.

Meanwhile, fellow South African Kevin Anderson failed to make the main draw having lost 6-7 (13/15), 6-2, 6-7 (1/7) to Hugo Gaston in qualifying.
